Photo Portfolio
The breath-taking beauty is in the details. Every detail, from concept to completion, is thoroughly thought through. I invite you to browse this sampling of client work. Hover over a photo to read the caption. Click on a photo to see it enlarged. It gives me great joy every time I complete a job, taking it from my workroom table and installing it into the proper room in my clients' homes. Seeing all the parts come together, from draperies to bedding to blinds to slipcovers, installation day is always my favorite day.
Custom Window Treatments
Window dressings of every style, color, and preference. Every custom created design was constructed and installed with great attention to detail for the resulting delight of each client.
Slipcovers and Upholstery
Whether you're recovering tired and worn out chair passed down through your family, or you found a charming old piece someone else is parting with, it can be given new life with a slipcover or reupholstery. You can pick out the perfect fabric and get many more years of enjoyment. If you don't have something to recover, we can start from scratch and make a new footstool or ottoman that is just the perfect fit.
Master Bedroom Suite
This bedroom was so much fun! My client was such a delight to work with. Beautiful valances in the clothes closet, water closet, and over the jacuzzi, each with their own attention to detail. And then there's the pompom-edged draperies and sleek room-darkening roller shades cocooning the four poster bed. Bedskirt, pillows, bench, and vanity stool. So much attention was given to finding just the right trims, beaded and ruched and fun and vibrant .Stunning burn-out sheers inside the glass doors of the custom cabinets. I even hand painted touches of pink to a piece of artwork to accenuate the bright pinks of the valance fabrics.
Sigma Kappa Sorority House
This is the Sigma Kappa sorority house, just a few blocks north of MSU campus. What started out as a simple bid to reupholster 48 dining chair pads, upon our first meeting quickly became a comprehensive renovation of a massive 1940's house that spanned two summers to complete.
Closely working with the housemother and a few board members, we updated the entire basement level, which included the flooring, paint, office window treatments, and furniture. On the main level, every room except the kitchen was updated: formal sitting room, living room, guest bathroom, entryway, and the housemother's entire apartment suite.
New draperies replaced the old dark olive green drapes. Furniture was either reupholstered or replaced with new pieces. Hunter Douglas blinds were added for privacy and light control. Lighting was updated with a more modern flare. And, to my delight, I tapped into my artistic strength...I hand painted the set of three canvas paintings of colored dots in a spiral that is mounted above the two new chairs and nesting tables, hand painted their greek letters inside a large metal clock, and hand painted their motto, "One heart one way" over the dining archway.
Holtham House Makeover
The Holtham house got a complete makeover. Inspiration came from a pair of well-loved upholstered chairs in a retro flamestitch pattern of blues and lime yellows. So we started by repainting the lifeless taupe walls with a light airy blue by Sherwin Williams, breathing new life into the entire space. Next, we installed new carpet in the living room and dining area and new luxury vinyl plank flooring in kitchen and entryway. The faded pink fabric on the dining chairs and bar stools were upgraded with spa blue and chartruese yellow. New countertops in the kitchen, including a beautiful new sink. We rearranged accent pieces and artwork as the finishing touch.
